Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an appealing story to the Cambodia casinos that sit just over the border from neighboring Thailand, where gambling hall gambling is not legal. Eight gambling dens are situated in a relatively tiny area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling halls is in a perfect area, a three to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing income gained from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few restrictions constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; however, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and despite the fact visas are supposedly necessary to cross, there are methods around this, as is true of most border crossings.

The first Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored ship gambling hall, highlights one hundred and fifty slots and sixty table games. The Naga gambling den is open all day and night with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of 21, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly followed. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 one armed bandits and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and 66 of the normal tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 casinos in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive resort and hotel complex that highlights a number of conveniences accompanying the gambling hall, which has 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and 88 table games.
